May 2010

Well we are finally getting all of the boxes unpacked and getting settled.  We absolutely love our new home!  Our boys love going for walks in the neighboorhood and can't wait until the pool opens over Memorial Day.  Our neighboors are absolutely wonderful and have welcomed us with open arms into the community.  We can't wait to get more people into the development to share the joy of being residents here.  Bob and his team from BVH have ensured that all of our expectations are met.  He also made sure we know how everything operates (we've never had a sprinkler system before).  Everyone from the security system rep to the plumber has been timely and treated us very well.  Any small issues were immediately dealt wiith in a professional manner.  All of our friends that have visited can't believe the quality of workmanship for the price.  We are so happy to be residents at Legacy Lakes!!!

With movers coming this week, we are ready to move into our new home!  We are so pleased with how the home turned out and can't wait to see the finished product.  All that remains is the landscaping and fencing.  Bob and his staff at BVH Construction have made this an enjoyable experience.  We are looking forward to going swimming in the new pool that will open soon after our move and meeting our new neighboors.

1/6/2010-We are really excited to see our home being built. After working with Bob from BVH construction and deciding on a home plan, ground has been broken and our homebuilding process has started. Megan and I couldn't be more pleased with our choice of builder! We can't wait to visit over MLK weekend to see the progress and select our granite, flooring and review our kitchen cabinets and appliances. Megan and I are extremely pleased to be moving to Legacy Lakes and can't wait to see the finished product! The pool looks great and we are looking forward to its opening this spring. Throughout the process we will keep you updated on our home as it goes from a lot of dirt and pine needles to a beautiful quality home for our growing family, interaction with our bulder , and the Legacy Lakes team. Hopefully our experience can provide insight to others who are considering moving to Legacy Lakes!

11 January

Even though it is extremely cold in NC, our builder has kept busy and has started the foundation work on our home. We are so excited to see it this weekend when we come and visit. It has been remarkable the difference in just a few days on all that has happened since Bob and BVH started construction! We are thrilled to see the progress (especially given the weather) and can't wait to look at all that Bob can get done in a week. This will be our first of two or three visits down to NC to review the home, check on progress and confirm our interior choices (granite, lights, fixtures, etc...). We will send our next update after our visit and fill you in on what happened this weekend.

WOW, what a weekend! After arriving late Thursday evening, Friday was a blur of picking out features for our new home. We finalized choices on granite, floor tile, kitchen back splash, and home fixtures. Kathy from BVH was wonderful and helped us making the right choices for our home and keeping us on budget. On Saturday we reviewed our carpeting choice and selected our hardwood. All of the vendors we dealt with were extremely helpful and professional. What great experience. On Sunday we went over final contract details with Bob from BVH and went to the home site to visit our home. We were thrilled to see how far our home had come in just one week. We can't wait to watch the updates on line as our home progresses.

We are constantly amazed at the pace of work with which the BVH crew is able to make progress with our house.  We have begun preparing our small children for the relocation, and the near- weekly photos that Bob Van Houten has provided us, make it all that more concrete for them.  From the pictures, they can identify the kitchen where we will eat pancakes, the yard where we will play fetch with the dog, and the family room where they will play with their toys.  Additionally they like hearing about the pool where we will swim in the summer, and the plans for the neighborhood playground.  We are hoping to see in the near future that ground has been broken for that project, as the children are really looking forward to meeting other kids and being able to swing, slide and climb.  Given the amenities that already exist, as well as the ones that are planned, Legacy Lakes has all the potential for fostering a sense of community for families, singles and retirees alike.  We are looking forward to our move and to making new friends.
